John Bedini the irreplaceable

The Memorial service for the well-known inventor John Bedini and his brother Gary yesterday was both heart-warming and heart-wrenching. Both are missed very much already by many friends, and hearts ache about that. Peter Lindemann gave a summary of their accomplishments, thinking that he could read it all without choking up. Wasn’t that easy, understandably. He’d known John for about 40 years.

The best part of the afternoon was hearing from the people in their community, their memories. The majority of the amusing stories told were about John because he had a higher profile socially. A strong personality definitely.

Gary was also a kind man and more often quietly working to keep the business operating and living the private life of a more reserved personality. However he was fully appreciated as the gem of a man that he was. How could John possibly have been so prolifically creative if he had had to carry the burden of business details, business planning? They were partners for decades, and maybe John’s heart gave out like it did because he couldn’t see carrying on the business without Gary.

I personally am grateful for the gifted inventors’ family members who are supportive. Especially the spouses, such as John’s dearly loved wife, so gracious even during this time. Gary’s wife had predeceased him by a few years.
